Diode Laser 980nm for Vascular Removal

The 980nm diode laser provides the optimal absorption spectrum for porphyrin-rich vascular cells. When exposed to the high-energy 980nm wavelength, vascular cells absorb the laser, undergo coagulation, and are eventually eliminated.

In addition to treating vascular lesions, the laser stimulates dermal collagen production, increases epidermal thickness and density, and reduces the visibility of small blood vessels. At the same time, skin elasticity and resilience are significantly enhanced.

What does the treatment feel like?

For maximum comfort, we use ice packs, chilled gel, and our laser is equipped with a gold-plated sapphire cooling tip to cool the skin during treatment. With these measures, most patients find the procedure very comfortable. Without cooling, the sensation is often described as similar to a light snap of a rubber band.

When are results expected?

Veins often appear lighter immediately after treatment. The time required for the body to fully reabsorb the treated vein depends on its size:
*Smaller veins: up to 12 weeks to resolve completely.
*Larger veins: 6–9 months to fully resolve.

How long do results last?

Once treated veins are absorbed, they do not return. However, due to genetics and other factors, new veins may form in different areas over time and may require additional treatment.

Typical side effects

Common side effects include mild redness and slight swelling, resembling small insect bites, which usually resolve within 1–2 days. Bruising is rare but may occur, typically resolving within 7–10 days.

Treatment process

1. Apply anesthetic cream to the treatment area for 30–40 minutes.

2. Clean and disinfect the site after removing the cream.

3. Select appropriate treatment parameters and proceed along the direction of the vessel.

4. Adjust parameters during treatment; the best effect is achieved when the red vein turns white.

5. When using zero interval time, move the handpiece continuously to avoid excessive energy on one spot, which may cause skin damage.

6. Immediately apply ice for 30 minutes after treatment. Ensure the wound remains dry; cover with gauze and plastic wrap if needed.

7. After treatment, scabbing may occur. Apply healing cream three times daily to promote recovery and reduce the risk of pigmentation.
